“Wherever the art of medicine is loved, humanity is also loved”
Hippocrates
My interest in the human being started when I first preceived its majesty.
The human body is as complex as it is intelligent. It was able to build itself from a simple cell to the magnificent manifestation of a living being. All its cells are connected and keep in close communication. The human body has the ability to renew and regenerate; in other words, it can adapt. For example, it senses when it is sick and attempts to heal. It has capabilities that go beyond our conscious understanding.
The human body must be observed as a whole, and not as the sum of its parts. This type of approach is called holism. Holism emphasizes the importance of considering something in its entirety. On the contrary, reductionism posits that a system can be explained by reducing it to its component parts, and that if something cannot be measured, it does not exist. From the reductionist point of view, the human body is a bag of biochemical reactions that at some point will fail incurably, and the best we can do is “manage” this decline.
Medicine is a vast field, containing many disciplines, including but not limited to: “conventional” medicine, orthomolecular, traditional Chinese, Homeopathic, Osteopathic, Acupuncture, and Ayurvedic. The predominant form of medicine today is conventional, or evidence-based medicine.
Evidence-based medicine is an approach to medical practice aimed at optimizing decision-making, emphasizing the use of information that comes from properly conducted research, and treating symptoms through medications, radiation or surgery.
My mission as a holistic physician is help you regain and enhance your health. I provide therapeutics that support the natural ability of the human body to heal itself, that aim to cure, not just control symptoms. I also promote healthy lifestyles to prevent disease.
What I offer through this page, which is dedicated to healing, is based on my education in different health sciences. I rely on the most recent scientific evidence found in integral medicine, natural medicine, orthomolecular medicine, clinical nutrition, and sports medicine.
It is time to stop managing diseases and start curing people with diseases.
